These sites are all within 40 minutes drive of Kayak Country:

Pleasant Lake, New London: Located 4 miles west of Kayak Country, outlet right off Rte. 11. Look for Elkins Business Loop and the landing is next to the dam. The lake with beautiful clear water is 2 miles long with explorable Blueberry Island on east side of lake.

Ready to GoLake Sunapee State Beach: At Mt. Sunapee circle north of Newbury Harbor 3 miles on Rte. 103. State entry fee required to launch (approx. $5.00). Bathrooms and snack bar in summer. After launching in canal or off beach, go south 2 miles to Newbury harbor or north 5 miles. Points of interest: directly across from launch site on east side of lake is National Park John Hay Estate. Anchor here for a swim! Most islands are private but there are interesting explorations around Great Island.

Merrimack River: Put in behind Franklin High School at boat Landing. Pull out 6 miles later at boat landing at Prison Farm in Concord. Eagle Habitat.

Sugar River: Claremont and Newport: Along Rt 11. Find AMC River Guide for best routes.

Warner River: Warner, Exit 9 Rt 103. High water, great class III rapids. In summer put in closer to Exit 9. Check AMC Guide book for particulars.

Cascade Marsh in North Sutton: Take right. turn going south on Shaker Rd. off Rt. 11 in New London. Go to Junction Shaker Rd and Cotton Rd. Take left. Go 2 miles on rough road. Marsh entrance at Bridge. Go either direction from bridge.

Kezar Lake, North Sutton: Quiet lake with a few islands. Boat landing across from Follansbee Inn.

Covered BridgeContoocook River: Lots of paddling; put in boat landing on River road in Henniker. Many pull-outs in town of Henniker, Contoocook, and Hopkinton. Check AMC /River Guide.

Little Lake Sunapee, New London: Look for boat landing on west side of lake near Exit 12 of I-89

Elbow Pond, Andover: Look for canoe ramp sign on Old College Rd, 3 miles after turn East on Rt. 11 toward Franklin.
